I had to take the plates off the ST and truck tonight, as I am not insuring them for the next little while.
Due to the placement of the light bar mounts, I had to bend and cut the plate off, it wasn’t possible to take out the screws.
Even though it is just a random number/letter combo, 078 RRP was my first car plate. I got it the day I got my first manual car, a 2006 Mazda 6. I would estimate it has travelled 200,000 to 300,000 km with me at the wheel.
Cheers plate. Thanks for the service.

Hindsight is 20/20, should have taken the plate off before installing the lightbar.
What are yours plans for mounting it in the future?

Maybe a stow and show plate mount, or just run no front??

Why not let the plate expire, so you could keep it?

The insurance adjuster who just cautioned renters not skimp on renters insurance has uninsured vehicles sitting in his driveway?
Canadialand is a strange place.

Your plates are tied to insurance? Why can’t you just let them sit?
I prefer things how they are here (also in OR and CA, I think) - plates stay with the car, forever, unless an owner intentionally changes it.

Our plates are our insurance. 068 RRp is my policy number

They'll have storage. It's like $400 a month to insurance both otherwise

Front plates aren’t legally required in Nova Scotia, only rear ones! :)

Jesus, that’s a lot. I have comprehensive on two pickups, a BMW, a Jeep and two motorcycles and am paying $280 a month. Only vehicles I’ve ever de insured were ones that could not be driven. In the case of my classic truck I still insured it as it’s way too easy to steal.

You can’t just put it on hiatus or dormant or something?
I’ve always seen old plates as a badge of honor. too bad.

No, you can’t sadly. It is ok, it’s just random numbers on tin.

Oh yeah, you guys can’t do year of manufacture plates either, and even collector plates are more tightly policed than large financial transactions in that province. Too bad.
